Cookie Policy

Last updated: 2026-05-30

This Cookie Policy explains how Follow the Money Florida (the "Service") uses cookies and similar technologies. We keep this to the minimum required to run the Service: a single strictly necessary session cookie, plus local storage for your theme preference. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website. "Local storage" is a similar browser mechanism for storing small values on your device. Some are strictly necessary to deliver a service you have requested (such as logging in); these are exempt from consent requirements under laws like the GDPR and ePrivacy rules.

2. What we use

NameTypePurposeDuration
cf.sid Strictly necessary session cookie (HTTP cookie, HttpOnly) Authentication / session — keeps you signed in after login and associates your requests with your account. The Service cannot function for logged-in use without it. Up to 24 hours; cleared on logout or expiry.
cf-theme Functional (browser local storage, not a cookie) Remembers your selected color theme so the interface looks the same on your next visit. Persists until you clear your browser storage.

3. What we do not use

The Service does not set advertising cookies, third-party marketing trackers, cross-site tracking pixels, or social-media cookies. Because the session cookie is strictly necessary and the theme value is a functional preference stored locally on your device, there is no advertising or analytics profiling to consent to or opt out of. If we add any non-essential analytics in the future, we will update this Policy and provide a consent mechanism where required.

4. Managing cookies

You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings, and clear local storage the same way. Note that blocking the cf.sid session cookie will prevent you from logging in or using authenticated features, since it is essential to operating the Service.

5. Third-party processing

When you make a payment, our payment provider (Stripe) may set its own cookies on its own pages as part of processing and fraud prevention, governed by Stripe's policies. The AI provider (Anthropic) processes your requests server-to-server and does not set cookies in your browser through us.

6. Changes

We may update this Cookie Policy as the Service evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
